Kia ora,
Hello! My name is Johanna (also known as Jo). I am a young photographer living in the Atherton Tablelands of North Queensland Australia.
Originally from New Zealand, moving here in 2016, I have always loved animals and have had a passion for them. After finding out that I do not have quite the strongest stomach to become a vet nurse, I decided to pursue my love for animals in a different field of work. My hobbies of drawing and painting soon led me to photography. In my final years of schooling (2018 and 2019) along with a Certificate 2 in Animal Studies, I took Film, TV and New Media as one of my chosen subjects. Learning how to use a camera and many different filming techniques assisted me in learning how to take good quality photographs even on an "old" camera.
After much research and practicing on my own animals, I decided to start working toward my goal of becoming a Professional Pet Photographer in 2021 and started creating my portfolio.
In 2025 I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge further and enrolled to a photography course online. I work through this course in my spare time and am learning many new things.
At the moment, I am offering photoshoots all around Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands, and surrounds. Travelling to you, I will work with you to capture beautiful, lasting photos.
I have also recently started taking photos of people for special events, such as formals, engagements, and even weddings. If you would like a photoshoot, enquire now!
